I use uqlx because sqlux wasn't yet mature when I built this enviroment in 2018, sqlux would probably work too but it's only used in scripted mode, no graphics display needed. The make scripts calls it using 'qm', if this is in your path and linked to sqlux you can have a try.
I removed scripted mode as there was no need as this still works fine in uqlx and sQLux was all about SDL front end!

Boots up okay to Superbasic.
That's good news! Did you get the keyboard interrupts message or not? I'm a bit curious, I don't get it (probably because my Q68 doesn't support it?)
Would the QL NET driver work?
IIRC it would work on Minerva too, haven't tested though.
Hi Jan,

The Keyboard interrupt message was present, see my bad phot:

Yes, the ND-Q68 network driver was designed and tested to run on both Min4Q68 as well as SMSQe.

Hi Jan,
Using the latest interim version on my Q68 1.05:
Q68 startup
Q68 startup
From there I can press F1 or F2 for monitor or TV mode respectively. Q68 enters those displays, but then there is no flashing cursor and I can't type anything from there on.

So the Q68 responds to the F1 or F2 prompt and then freezes?
Do you have a BOOT file and if so, what's in there?

When I did the test, it was just Q68_ROM.SYS quickly put on a reformatted SD card. No .WIN file. Will try again with one if that helps.

Just tried it with the Black Phoenix, QLE and QLWA.WIN Derek supplied with the Q68. No difference - F1 or F2 takes it to TV or monitor mode, then it all freezes. I've left it on for a few minutes to see what happens - nothing.

Hmm... could this be the SD-card driver?
Can you try this from SMSQ/E:

Code: Select all

a=RESPR(1e5)
LBYTES min4q68_bin,a: REMark the LRESPRable version
POKE a+51414,0
CALL a
This disables the SD-card driver so you won't be able to do much, but at least see if you can get a flashing cursor and working keyboard.

Same result, sorry (apart from the fact that the "QUB/WIN drivers" message isn't there at startup).
Gets to the TV or monitor windows, then no flashing cursor and can't type anything.

Hi Dilwyn,

What happens when you let the logo screen time out?

Does it enter monitor mode?
Do you get a cursor?
Is it possible to type a character?
Does it run the BOOT file?

Jan
