With Derek's talents, that's perfectly possible!

Type in www.qlforum.co.uk and press ENTER, then wait for something to start happening. Once started, it's fast. I don't get this effect with most other sites. Just tried it with my mobile here, but since reception is patchy in the house, it wasn't a good test. I'll try it with my laptop when I'm somewhere else for comparison.
From that description your ISP/Network Provider has terrible slow DNS lookups!
Does sound like that, doesn't it?
Took my laptop with me yesterday and tried on a public wifi - the "delay" wasn't there at anywhere near the same level.
My ISP at home is EE. Anyone else on EE get the same issue?

Seems, that there is (again) a problem with Dilwyn's site. No luck.

For once, both versions of the site seem to be working ok here, even after refreshing my browser window.

Remember that in theory dilwyn.me.uk shuts down on March 13th or so, entirely possible it might go before then if the host or domain name service chooses to.

As XorA says, just use dilwyn.qlforum.co.uk now.

Hello,

Looking for a 1993 QL World issue, I have noticed that some of them are not downloadable form the QL Homepage (dilwyn.qlforum.co.uk):

- all 1992
- all 1993
- Jan, Feb, Mar 1994

They can be downloaded from the old one (dilwyn.me.uk), so I assume links are broken for some reason on the "new" website

Thank you for reporting this. I'll look into it when I get back. Most likely some files went astray when copying to the current server.

I *hope* that the missing files have been restored now.

Raises the question of how much damage there is elsewhere on the site. If anyone spots broken links within the site please let me know. A reminder that the old dilwyn.me.uk site closes down on 13th March if the service providers are prompt.
