It seems there is nothing wrong with your document - I can open it in XChange 3.90L, in Quill (mdv version for vDrive) and also with the Quill viewer used by my program QLCommander
I have attached the manual saved with XChange.

That looks valid to me. If you have a Windows or Linux PC, you might want to try QStripper to see if it can open the file. That way you might be able to rescue the content.

If you are on Windows you will also need the QT bsupport files:
