Re: QL Today to close after next issue
Well, there was (understandably) quite a bit of farewell articles and not so much technical content as usual. But, al in all, a great issue

Was great - that reminds me - could do with a video of you playing it!
Would also like a copy for the preservation project please....

I think I sent you one but it had that weird copy protection on so that any copy doesn't work I rarely play on the original discs as I'm worried they will break so I mainly play on the demo from Dilwyn's site.

Re: QL Today to close after next issue
Sorry my previous post was so terse. I am using my phone at the moment and good as the virtual keyboard is, it's still not as easy as a full sized real one
I remember FTC when it came out but I thought it would be simply too difficult to play. The article sort of confirmed that but also made me wish I'd tried. A fascinating and detailed overview, we'll written and comprehensive.
Anyway, I'd recommend the mag + Dvd bundle to all QL fans =)

Could you perhaps make a disk image with rawread?vanpeebles wrote:I think I sent you one but it had that weird copy protection on so that any copy doesn't work I rarely play on the original discs as I'm worried they will break so I mainly play on the demo from Dilwyn's site.
QPC2 can handle disk images I believe...

nope, it cannot, I'm afraid.
SMSQmulator can, but only read-only.
uqlx can , as well as QEmulator , I believe.
But installing a QL emulator just for the purpose of creating a disk image is probably overkill.
On Linux, a disk image (even of a QL disk) can easily be created by
Code: Select all
dd if=/dev/fd0 of=diskimage
rawrite for windows (http://www.chrysocome.net/rawwrite) will do the job.

Tobias

When I try to download this I get a message which says:tofro wrote:RWAP wrote:vanpeebles wrote:

"rawwritewin-0.7.zip contained a virus and was deleted" from M$ Security Essentials. A similar message from AVG is shown on my laptop.
Anyone else got this, or was it a "false positive"?
