I am not sure (i.e. haven't got a clue) about the LiIon charging circuit, but I guess you know what you're doing.
Because of that, I usually tend to replace NiCad with NiCad.
Wherever I happened to encounter those Varta Batteries, I have replaced them with a 3xAA battery holder and NiCads connected by two loooong wires, in order to be able to mount them as far away from any sensitive parts of the equipment to prevent further damage from potential leaking.
Let's hope a new C and 7803 fixes everything.

Nope.
It boots, but I can't get a workable display - the image is too fuzzy and noisy.
I am thinking of parting out the insides as there must be someone who can use the Rodime unit or memory boards. I can then mount my QL2 inside the case.

Will be interesting to see if I can get a THOR 1 up and running that I have sat in pieces!
