Convert MP3 to QL Sampled Sound System

Please find attached a little guide how to convert MP3 to QL Sampled Sound System data with the Audacity Software.
This is useful for the new QIMSI interface, which uses the same data format with its demo sound player.
The same instructions also apply to Q40, Q60, Q68 and emulators with QLSSS support. One might not convert to mono for these.

(A system-level driver makes no sense for the QL with QIMSI yet, as all available filesystems use SLAVE buffering, which slows down read access too much.)

So you do not use SOX, which has been ported to the QL , I used it on the Q60 to produce sound clips.

I have converted AC/DC : Whole Lotta Rosie on the Q60 and works on the Q68.

Thank you Peter. I already use Audacity for other audio work, so it will be useful to be able to use it to make audio for Q68 (not done the mod for QIMSI QL sound).

Useful to have an alternative to SOX.

I also use SOX, but with Audacity I find it easier to optimize the amplification, thanks to the visualized waveforms.
Also, MP3 processing on a QL is mighty slow. Not everyone has a Q60 at hand.

I did not mean only on a Q60, SOX work on any QL pkatform, with enough memory.

Maybe QBITS can update his music programme to handle the QIMSI sound.
