From time to time the excellent forum contains some gems of inspiration, in-depth comment, technical know how, great ideas or just stuff I want to get back to sometime in the future.

Problem 1. Besides posting on the topic, am I missing a facility already here that allows me mark a topic in some way that I can read it or refer to it at a later date (this is besides the usual favourites/bookmark internet browser options which are machine dependant). Something available on the forum perhaps I can click for later reading/reference?

Problem 2. Occasionally, just occasionally I see things here and think wow that would be really useful to have that information all in one self contained PDF. Is it public domain?

The rulebook states
You must not use The Sinclair QL Forum to send or publish material which is illegal or unlawful, or material which could give rise to legal action under English (UK) or International applicable law. All material you publish or send via The Sinclair QL Forum must not be defamatory, hateful, obscene, indecent, discriminatory, racist or inflammatory; such material must not infringe any person's intellectual property rights or rights of confidence, impinge upon any person's privacy, or constitute incitement to commit a crime; further more - material must not be misleading, pornographic, deceptive, abusive, harassing, threatening, or menacing.

But I cannot see anything there that says I cannot publish material from the Forum, obviously giving credit where credit is due. What is the position here? My reasons are all about spreading the QL word btw.

Also for info admin people
6) User posted Images & files.
The Sinclair QL Forum offers an attachment facility allowing a user to post images/files which are relevant to their posts. Any abuse of this facility will result in deletion of the offending file and a warning and/or a ban. The Sinclair QL Forum and the staff are not responsible for any of the files hosted on the forums. You download any attachments at your own risk.
Please make sure you state where images come from if they are not your own and also provide the website address and details of the source.
has got some weird bits in it that I think should not be there :)

Back to problem 1 - As I mentioned, posting to a topic then appears in your POSTS, an incentive perhaps? When I get time and go through the unread posts, I read them and wish sometimes I could just tag it some-way. I know the forum provides : Board Index and also View unanswered posts • View unread posts • View new posts • View active topics & view your posts, but please Mr Administrator can I have some more?

Usually if I quote from the forum else where I put the information in quotes plus who said it and also the address to it.

I'm not too sure about if it was a massive post. I know posters like Nasta(and others!) have posted superb extended essay style posts and in that case it would probably be polite and good practice to ask the poster first.

I'll check the rules over at some point and also see if there's some kind of bookmarking system or similar for posts.

Apologies

The part that says

Is from the Dreaded Rulebook Section 4) Forum Use and Posting http://www.qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3

and the second quote

was from Rules for Everyday Usage, General Usage of the Forum Section 6) http://www.qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4

The politeness and good practice I had already taken as read, just wasn't sure of anything else, hence the post :)
