This is very not vapourware BBQL network! :-D

But do give us some time on the drivers, life is getting in the way!

Are you aware of the termination issues? If you keep a termination inside the Q68 (so it can still at least be used as an endpoint without special adaptor) you will no longer be able to provide a dual connection. Also, just a normal Y-cable can not be used, because you need connectors with switches.

Hi Peter,

The terminators will be outside the Q68 case, with the terminators in the supplied cable.

HI Peter,

I simple solution to my problem would be to have the termination of te QL NET outside the Q68, with a Panel mounted JST connector to connect to the Q68 Expansion port, an ammended drawing to the Simple QL NET diagram is shown here:
Panel Mounted QL NET for Q68

Would this work?

My alternative solution was to drill 2 6mm dia. holes in the side of Q68 Case, which spoils the look of the case and I will have 60 holes to drill.

Yes. But it would take away the option to simply plug a network cable into the Q68. Which would otherwise be okay, if the Q68 is only used as an endpoint with fixed 330 Ohms termination (probably the majority of use cases).

A 3.5mm jack with a termination resistor solves this quite neatly.

How? If there is only room for one jack at the Q68, and it is intended for direct plugin, it always has to be 330 Ohms terminated.
