You must set unlock bit to unlock write protection.
WIN_FORMAT 1
Read the manual.

Hi,

Assuming the CF Card adpter is setup correctly as a master IDE device try:

Win_format 1
Win_disk initialize,1
Win_disk create, 1,1,sizeinmega
Win_drive 1,1,1
Format win1_name

Where name is the name of the partition.

There are some good examples of how to create WIN partitions in the manual at page 13 & 15

Hi,

Sorry for the error, thd second command should be:

WIN_DISK "init", 1

I was quoting someone else and not the manual.

Once you've formatted the CF card, can it then be read on the PC?

It might be the adaptor. My experience has been that not all IDE CF card adapters work well with the Qubide adaptor. I possess an adaptor that is visually identical to the one shown in the posts above and could not get it to work with Qubide and Qubata software. But some do work well. See the post here http://qlheaven.blogspot.com/2017/07/co ... r-and.html showing a CF adaptor type that works with Qubide and Qubata in an Aurora build. I bought it on Amazon and it is called a "Syba Best Connectivity 2.5" IDE 44-pin to Dual Compact Flash Adapter". It will also need a 40 to 44 pin converter.
