QL Pawn

Post by RWAP »

Thanks to the former Magnetic Scrolls team; QL Pawn has now been added to the Sinclair QL Homepage - http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/games/adventures/index.html as freeware.

I have provided Dilwyn with two versions of this program - a floppy disk image, and three microdrive images (Dilwyn's site needs to be updated as he only has one on there at the moment).

The main issue will be getting the microdrive version to work from the vDriveQL - as it needs you to have a boot microdrive image in mdv1_ and the key microdrive image in mdv2_ at start up, and then switch to the game microdrive image in mdv1_.

Any chance to run it under QPC?

It loads, but unfortunately, is too quick and the first location is corrupt for some reason - it also cannot seem to read the keyboard on QPC2

Seems it uses similar ways for the keyboard as Scrabble, which also doesn't work on QPC.

What "new zip file earlier"? Nothing received. Not even in junk mail folder.

I got one zip file with diskimage from you, one with the mdv image from Simone.

Damn - when I am back on PC I will send it to the correct email address instead of your old one which still comes up as the preferred option in Thunderbird....

Now received the correct files from Rich for the microdrive version of the Pawn and uploaded them to the Adventure games page on my site.

Note that the microdrive version downloads as a single zip file containing three microdrive images and a short instructions file. You'll need to read the instructions.txt file to see which microdrive image goes in which drive and when to change to the third cartridge.

If you downloaded the disk image version yesterday, no change to that.
