Microcode updates are transient, they are applied on every boot and promptly forgotten once the power is off...

I have returned from my Guinness World Record attempt. Yeah, we *smashed* the old world record. Was 600 miles in a jon boat, now is 2,244.5.

In a hackintosh, MacOS cant apply patches on non-Mac hardware. The patching happens from the EFI before the OS even boots, but the EFI on hackintoshes is 'reproduced' - emulated but from a real PC EFI. So I'd need to have some Windows EFI components to get and apply the patches, then kick off the MacOS launcher. Fiddly.

It does look like simply replacing the storage media (which also contained the EFI overlays for the hackintosh, (thanks Clover!) is a good start.

I'll figure it out.

This is all so much more complex than it used to be when I was a kid.

Well done, congratulations.
