Posting dates are 1 hour behind!

Post by NormanDunbar »

It is currently 23:44 in the uk.
When I post this, the header will show that I posted at 22:44 (ish)
Are we still running the forum's server on GMT/UTC?

Just wondering.

Cheers,
Norm.

User Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> change timezone

User Control Panel is the little upper body logo in the green bar on the top right of the page. Between the question mark and the envelope.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks to both of you for this, I've updated my own settings now too.

Now all I need to work out is why Firefox takes 3 minutes to log me into this Forum sometimes (Chrome and IE both OK, although Firefox is what I use most now).

phpBB uses one database for the posts and another for credentials/authentication. As the posts database is accessed constantly it's mostly cached in RAM. The auth database is accessed quite infrequently so often it actually has to access the drive.

If you log in, then log out and back in again, it would be much quicker the second time.

That said, it is apparent sometimes that the forum is run on a quite congested server.

It doesn't even seem to understand Profanity, let alone Welsh.
