Ouch! :(

Hope it gets better soon, and is not (too) painful.

Thanks :)
A bad lumbago beats this for pain, but it will be pretty inconvenient to be limping around on crutches for weeks, if not months, ahead. Anyway, nice to have a spanking new hip, good for another few thousand miles, I hope..

My step father had two new ones in his 30s. Wore them out. Got two more in his 50s. Sadly died of Parkinson's before he wore them out.

Take care.

No, not today ;

for Xmas I bought myself a Pi400 computer, but playing with it for a while, I decided no longer to read MagPi on my computer, but to subscribe to the paper issues for one year.
Framboise.jpg
Surprise : with this subscription, I received a free PiZero (last model : monocore, 1Ghz, integral Wifi and BlueTooth). I reused the Raspian SD that I had in my old RaspberryPi (also monocore, only 700Mhz thus slightly slower, and no integral Wifi, Blurtotth).

And as i had installed uQLx, this PiZero became my tiniest QL. Indeed, the screen of the emulation was small too,

but there are several cures :

1/ use the option "double pixel" in the configuration menu ; the pixels are two times larger, but still square : to get a correct aspect ratio, you have to set your TV to 4/3 instead of 16/9 full screen.

2/ use the command " xzoom -mag 2 3 " ; because of the parameters 2 3 the correct aspect ratio shows on the 16/9 screen in the zoomed window.

For the Pi0 sQLux (based on uqlx) can run fullscreen on the console (without X11) and is pretty fast.

Unfortunately the lack of proper GL support under X11 makes it quite slow in that mode, but still can do fullscreen!

[note: I am biased as I wrote the code to do that]

Thank you polka. I have never owned or used a Pi of any type, so seeing the emulator run on it is very informative.

To XorA : I guess I will also test this one soon. What is actually slow about its full sreen display ?
To Dilwyn : uQLx on the PiZero, I was curious to test how many times it was faster than a BBQL. The answer is 20 times. I used my Game of Life program (the version for Computer One Forth) to measure that. The only thing with uQLx that I noticed does not work is the "control space" to stop something in the middle (for instance a listing). But the "control C" to switch between jobs works.
