I did an IDE interface for the Sam Coupe.

I'll add a couple of this PCB to my next PCB order.

Take it this will be called Scubide then - can't have Q's in Sam Coupe stuff.

It's 90% an existing Sam Coupe design, and 10% QubIDE improvements. It's based off the Atom interface, so I called it "Atomic"...

There is an "Atom Lite" interface out there, but it's 8 bits only, just for CF cards and the like. It's quite slow.

I was asked if I could do an improved copy of the Trinity SD/ethernet card. I won't. It's under active development, and I do not want to work on compatible hardware for something he has gone to all that trouble to develop. I'm not crashing his party.

If I can develop a quick serial port based off a standard UART for it, I'll create an ESP32 card.

Im sure your already aware SAM has Comms Interface. So if you wanted existing software to just work (tm).

Although I still need to hack mine to fix the PSU issues.

Hi,

I had many Sam Coupes over the years, much better than the Spectrum.

I would not mind having another one, but they attract very high sale prices now.

I see the circuit diagram has been drawn, many the way I get a Sam is to make one, or use an emulator.

Regards,

Derek

But there are equations for it for FPGA!

I didn't know that. So yes, it can be done. If there's equations for an FPGA, maybe they can use a MUCH faster Z380?

Still have mine Derek, bought it at a developers price from MGT in about 1989. We did some good work with that machine. I liked it a lot.

The MIST can run as a SAM Coupe apparently.
