QL Newbie from USA

Hi, just wanted to say hi.

I am located in USA and hope to dive into the QL platform this year, working on buying my 1st now.

Having been an Atarian since 1970s until mid 1990s when the Ataris and Commodores died off, never really expected to become fascinated with Sinclair, but fast forward to 2019 and I am smitten with all that is Sinclair.

I now own my 1st Timex Sinclairs (I am in USA so these were common here) and hopefully in the very near future my QL will land on my doorstep.

Hope to learn programming on the QL as well as the Spectrum line. Looking forward to the challenge.

Need to buy some QL Magazines at some point. I know I can see online PDFs but prefer good old paper mags.

Thanks for allowing me in.

Welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new to the QL too... I only came across it as part of learning to program the 68000... I've got a QL 'on order' which will be shipped to me from the UK soon, so I'm 'making do' with emulators for now!

If you're looking to learn programming in Assembly, I have Z80 and 68k tutorials on my website and youtube channel - which cover the Speccy and will soon cover the QL as well

Anyway, I hope you have fun with the QL, and enjoy the forum!

Dave, you probably already know mine since I am buying some goodies from you (wink wink) but I am located in Northern California. :D

BTW, my folks and brother live in San Antonio. Forgot if I mentioned that in our texts on Facebook.

Well, that narrows it down a bit. Bay Area, Sacramento, or outside of either of these metro areas.

I'm in Alameda County and work in Santa Clara County.

Hi Tim... Dave just mentioned you in a chat I did with him a tad earlier. Said you were near me.

So I used to live in Bay Area but now in Grass Valley... about 3 hours from you.
