ADVENTURE CREATION TOOL Manual

Post by Andrew »

Can anyone send the ADVENTURE CREATION TOOL Manual - in a format that I can use (pdf, word, Quill )
The manual that I have on the disk is in Perfection format - and I do not have Perfection.
I can open the manual as text, but there are a lot of Perfection formatting characters in it that makes it a bit hard to read (and a lot of work to edit it by hand)

There's a Perfection demo disk on Dilwyn's site that contains a runnable exe file.

Maybe that can help?

Might help to read it once, but not to convert it to a really usable format

Hi Andrew,

You might like to try this http://www.gwicks.net/downloads.htm as you can download Geoff Wicks program QL2PC which converts Quill and Perfection documents to rtf format, text and html.

Cheers

Thank you ! This might be exactly what I needed !

If anyone wants to download it - the link on the page is broken. The correct link is http://www.gwicks.net/files/ql2pc.zip

Later Edit:
It doesn't work as it should :( . The exported HTML/RTF document looks like this:

Code: Select all

Exported from the Perfection code.
Stripped of all control characters.
Hopefully, this is useful.

I had long forgotten what a right PITA a Perfection export was!

Norm.

Hi,

I converted the manual to be rad on the kindle.

I will convert it to pdf and post it here.

One question, is the manual copyright as the software is.

Maybe David Batty, who holds the rights to Digital Precison software, would release the DP Collection.

David Batty does NOT own the rights to Digital Precision software - he just registered a company using the same name.

Freddy Vaccha reverted the rights to the software to the original software authors. Unfortunately, there is no sign of Steve Sutton who wrote the Adventure Creation Tool (and others).

Hi,

Here are the ACT Manuals that I have converted for my own use on a Kindle.

I have converted the files with Calibre to: PDF, TXT, AZW3

I had to zip up the files, as the forum software did not like the Kindle azw3 format.
