I have acquired a small pile of QL books and have been listing them for sale on sellmyretro.com
Have a look at the Sinclair QL books for sale - at least I have kept the prices realistic compared to some sellers on that other well known auction site!!

Re: Various Sinclair QL Books
Talking of books about the QL, any one ever read this one:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sinclair-Ql- ... 0445364570
http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/sinclai ... 1026881143
Seems like a collection of wiki articles etc. Anyone read it? Seems rather expensive for what is a set of public domain texts - or have I missed something?
I've just bought a QL book from alibris.co.uk Some of their prices are crazy, but this one was just £2.50 so £5 in total with postage. Not too bad. (Would have bought it from you Rich, but you did not have it listed in your current collection).

This to me looks very much like what Dilwyn has already done here http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/docs/ebooks/index.html , however Dilwyn's version does not have a fancy front bluish page and its free to download in e-pub and mobi formats.
I have downloaded this and it is full of stuff, it also makes entertaining reading

Ah, excellent. I had not seen that. I'll download it for my Kindle tonight.

I was really surprised how much QL and Sinclair related stuff was on Wikipedia. I think the book ran to about 255 pages IIRC, although that includes material on other Sinclair products.Mr_Navigator wrote:This to me looks very much like what Dilwyn has already done here http://www.dilwyn.me.uk/docs/ebooks/index.html , however Dilwyn's version does not have a fancy front bluish page and its free to download in e-pub and mobi formats.

I'm not so sure that the book on eBay is legal, as I understood it the licensing terms for Wikipedia source material you shouldn't sell it for profit, although it's a while since I read the licensing terms, so I may be wrong.
Just think of the number of books you could publish and profit from what with the range of material on Wikipedia and the facility to build your own book on there! My book took about a day from concept to finished item, including learning how to use the system. Subsequent efforts would be faster as you got used to the system.

Re: Various Sinclair QL Books
Wikipedia does not actually have a lot of information on the QL - I think their page on QL Software is quite laughable, but then I am not really sure why they have it - the page on Spectrum software would run to several 1000 entries....
Still maybe I am biased - I had my account on WIkipedia banned for self-promotion, once they realised that most of the QL software I was putting details on about, was now only available through my website!

Re: Various Sinclair QL Books
What the only one to be banned? And I thought it was a personal vendetta - maybe they feel threatened by the QL Wiki !!Mr_Navigator wrote:Hmmm I don't think you were or still are the only oneStill maybe I am biased - I had my account on WIkipedia banned for self-promotion, once they realised that most of the QL software I was putting details on about, was now only available through my website!
