TeX and Metafont on the QL

Post by RalfR »

TT has given C-sources of TeX and Metafont to me in the 80s. I think, he wanted to put that on the QL (perhaps he has done?,....who knows, QPLQ existed!). I do not know, if they are complete, if any one is interested, I can mail them.

That's TeX as in what LaTeX sits on top of? If I remember correctly, TeX is a nightmare without LaTeX.

Cheers,
Norm.

No idea how you would get LaTeX working on QDOS with its directory limitations.

TeX/meta font would only really be interesting if they have been ported. As obviously both are already open source.

Hi,

There was an attempt at porting Tex in the late 1990s, by Franz Hermann, but I do not know what happened to this.

Regards,

Derek
