QL Menu Generator

Post by RWAP »

I must have been asked about QL Menu Generator by BusyBee Software back in May.

I found the author - Wolfgang Vogel in Germany, and he has now replied to provide his permission for this formerly commercial software to be released as public domain.

I just need to find the message / email where it was mentioned as someone must have had the original software......

I think, this is "QLmg", I have an original disk once bought at an user meeting in Ibbenbüren. I hope, there will be a manual on the disk, as all my printed ones are lost long ago.

Hi Rich,

I never used QL Menu Generator, is the source code the programme available?

I have been cleaning up badly scanned manuals and OCRing the image files, using GIMP, Tesseract and Gscan2PDF, all seem to do a good job and feel an open source.

I have just finished the QL Advanced User Guide, which is a big file to do , but the OCR software did most of the manual without error. But I think this is still copyright.

I will add the QL Menu Generator Manual to my list of manual to do.

Regards,

Derek

I once bought it, but never used it seriously, just to scan other programs to look at their sprites. The sources, which Markus has put in the mail group is just a product of the program, not the program itself.

I fear, if Wolfgang does not have the SB source, no chance, as the program is compiled with QLiberator.

Ok, I have found my disk. Yet to zip the files. The label was printed on an Atari ST....such a shame :D .

So here is the ZIP of my QMG V2. Good luck. The main program does not include the QLiberator runtimes, so may work with 3.36. QPTR perhaps is an old version, so if the recent one does not work, take the supplied one.

I am lucky to have an USB floppy with NEC chip, as it reads all of my 25 years disks without any problems.
