Your zip file is only 118 bytes. It contains a Manual.doc that is 0 bytes long

Psion XChange Quill loads the document just fine - Which leads me to assume it's valid. Apparently, something else is wrong with your copy of Quill. Does it work OK with other documents?

Thanks Tobias. I will try the Xchange Quill.

I only tried the MDV and Floppy version of Quill.

If I remember correctly, I think that files created with Xchange are not [always] backwards compatible with the original Psion files.

Usual caveats apply when discussing what I "remember" - I'm usually corrected! ;)

Tobias,

I tried in the Xchange version of Quill and get the same error as you can see from my screen shot.

Can you please save it in Quill exchange and send it to me and I can see if it will load.

Just a thought - how are you getting the Quill document onto the QL?

Are you using the HABI file transfer program? I think (but could be wrong) you need to transfer the headers on a Quill document for Quill to accept them...

If you copy the first few bytes of the file to the screen, what do you get? Theres a header area at the start, 20 bytes, and will have chr$(0), chr$(20), vrm1q - or very similar. Might be worth writing a quick SuperBASIC program to dump out the first 20 bytes? In character and numeric form, maybe we will notice something.

Use Open_in to be sure it's read only.

Cheers,
Norm.
