Ideas and Thoughts for a text type Car Battle game on the QL

I'm often thinking on ideas for games, and I have thought a lot about a car battle game based on my favourite anime "Initial D". To put it simply the show is about a nerdy bunch of street racers in Japan, and the main character, wins his battles by having the lightest car on the downhill sections. (and the skills!)

An arcade style game would be impossible for me, but I thought what if you bought and tuned vehicles, and the races were calculated with a race engine. The engine would calculate the wins based on a whole variety of variables. So far I've come up with this engine as a work in progress:

The street track (A to B), cars are all defined in values, and that's a test run between a heavier powerful car, and the lighter car.

There is a turn-based car battle game called "Car Wars" from Steve Jackson Games. You could do a very modified version of that game, using some of the game mechanics.

That would be more like Mad Max :P I reckon with a bit more thought this engine is nearly ready.

Yea, well maybe you should finish one game before you start another. :-)
