q-liberator

Post by dden »

Does anyone know if q-liberator compiler is free nowadays? I've not seen it on the QL websites, so probably not.

No, still commercial when I last checked. You might be able to get a copy from Jochen Merz in Germany, or possibly ask Rich Mellor at RWAP Services http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk/ or Bruce at Quo Vadis Design http://www.ql-qvd.com/ if they might be willing to get a copy for you.

Q-Liberator (and QLOAD / QREF) are all still commercial products - when I spoke to Adrian Soundy / Ian (?) they said that Jochen has the rights to sell copies of this on behalf of Liberation Software, and so after discussion with Jochen, I have listed it on sellmyretro.com on his behalf, as he does not have it on his website:

Some great news today.

I have spoken with Adrian Soundy who is over from New Zealand and has been speaking with Ian Stewart whilst he has had the opportunity.

Both Adrian and Ian (Liberation Software Limited) have now agreed that all of their products - QLiberator, QLOAD and QREF can now be released as freeware. :D

I have asked about the source code too - Adrian will see if he can find it.

Great news, well done Rich.

I'll be on the case when I get back tonight.

Hope they do manage to dig out the sources, my thanks to them for all this.

Thanks for pursuing this, Rich. I know it's not your favorite thing.
