This is not outrageous for a German QL inc PSU and free postage (within Germany).

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Sinclair-QL-mit ... 3184640067

Apparently it works but there is only one pic and very little info.

What a price.... The problem is: If people buy that, the price range seems to get higher on and on.

That seems to be consistently about what they 'can' go for (German version). I think that's pretty fair really, assuming it does work properly in every way - not just the boot screen appears! The seller really isn't doing himself any favours with just the short description and single pic - I bet if it had more pics and a better write up that it would be gone by now.

Well, the price is 4x to that, what I have paid in Deutsche Mark, when I bought my QL at Vobis in Aachen at 1985. And then it was new, not 24 years old.

A Ferrari bought in 1985 and still in working condition in 2020 with average use would also cost more than the price when new ;). Supply and demand. There is relatively small demand for QLs, but also not much supply, so by no means are the values consistent, but if someone wants a German QL they aren't always easy to find and they usually will pay 200+.

A US power supply was selling for $115 on eBay in the US. It was up for a day and not it's gone. It's not even in the completed/sold listing items so someone may have made them a better offer and they pulled the sale. I't was scratched up and not really worth it considering Charlie Ingley is creating stylish replacements for something under $30 that will work universally.

I'm looking forward to those. But they're not ready yet, so time to sell all your spare PSU's quickly! I expect people will still want to have the originals though to some degree, but they will come down in price with a newer, better one available.

The eBay seller has put this one up to 299 Euros now (from 249). He must have seen me sell a UK version for 220 (that was fully sorted with a nicer desc, more pics and some fully tested extras).
