I've just added a Brain Smasher! page to the QL wiki:

I also made some improvements to the general Jochen Merz page.

Brain Smasher! was a puzzle game that used PE, from 1989 (and was still being sold in 1996 at least).

It's a game I've played very often in the past. I've released it as part of my QL-SD demo disc https://www.kilgus.net/ql/ql-sd/

Great job, thank you. I have finally understood the rules of the game  and was able to finish the 1st level for the first time! Great game, however it would be great to be able to save the state and the results... Do we know if the source code is also published and free (e.g. on GitHub :P)?

It is actually rather a good game isn't it, quite an addictive one once you get the hang of it. I've also been at it off and on for the last few days. The time limit is hard (and it runs quicker on quicker machines)! I've managed to get to level 4 but did keep getting stuck on level 2 for quite a while.

An underrated puzzle game.

For all you avid Brain Smashers out there (so, sometimes me and grafvonb) I've just discovered that if you put the exe through MenuConfig there is an option for extra time, which appears to double the time you get to complete each level but does not add remaining time from previous levels. You can also turn the sound on/off.

Oh, and the game is based on Mahjong Connect 2, (AKA Shisen-Sho). I had a feeling it probably wasn't invented by Jochen Merz, and that also explains the Chinese characters/feel.
