First topic, ner ;)

What's this then? A place to discuss and share specific additions/changes to the QL Wiki?

Not a bad idea.

Morning Chr$,

I requested a Wiki forum so I had a place to put all the news about the Ql Wiki. I (try to) keep it up to date as regards security fixes etc, and keep the spammers at bay when necessary - our old mate Toby seems to have given up spamming us with his crud. Silly boy always signed up with the same email address, so that was a dead giveaway! This was the reason that I had to revoke all privileges from the default "user" group on the Wiki, and make everyone who signs up read-only until I vetted them - which is difficult if new users have no write privileges though! But I stopped Toby from constantly spamming us with his phishing web sites.

Cheers,
Norm.

I bet Toby was some foreign spam bot - don't take it personally Norman. I get all kinds of rubbish on my Wordpress sites, including about 3 bots a day that try to log on as admin (always with either the user name 'admin' or the website domain name as user name) but fortunately there is a plug-in that stops them.

I keep meaning to join up and add/amend some stuff!

I have just joined. Unfortunately it didn't accept the $ in Chr$ or like the upper-case 'C' (or report an error) so it just has me as 'chr'.

Hi Chris,

I noticed you had joined the Wiki - I get an email when new users join. I have given you "writer" privileges, so you are able to contribute now. (New users only get read only until vetted!)

Toby did seem to nip around the USA a lot, and quickly too. One day he was in Chicago according to his IP and half an hour later was in San Francisco. God only knows what car he has! I used to set his password to something rather "informative" (usually giving advice on "sex and travel"!) and sent a notification email. I think he got the message. Finally.

Anyway, welcome to the Wiki. Have fun.

Cheers,
Norm.

I made my first contribution!

Minor change on the Fleet Tactical Command page, another minor change on the Star Guard/Galactic Invader page (removed 'MISSING IN ACTION', because it isn't) and uploaded images of the instructions. They look a bit on the large side though, on the page. Is that ok like that:

https://qlwiki.qlforum.co.uk/doku.php?i ... star_guard

If not, I'll make them smaller.

Edit: I made them smaller on screen, that fits better now.

Hi Chris,

That looks fine to me. If you wanted to scale the images, perhaps to get them all on one line, the game packaging I mean, stick "&200" and "&400" after the word "direct" That will scale the widths to 200 and 400 keeping the height as per the aspect ratio.

I don't know if you have seen the Wiki Guide at http://qdosmsq.dunbar-it.co.uk/download ... dating.pdf it contains lots of handy hints, even if I say so myself! ;)

Thanks for your contribution.

Cheers,
Norm.

Yes, thanks, I noticed that and changed the 400 to 200 to reduce the size. I have seen the wiki guide, but it was a while ago.
