Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
The oscillator frequency can be 60.0 MHz or 66.0 MHz depending on jumper setting. For the 68060RC50A CPU you apparently had ordered, I would recommend 60.0 MHz.
Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
I don't have RC50A grade, I only have RC50 (for other project). I was going to get a RC66 (pending a RC75) , so I'll get 66.000MHz oscillator, thanks.Peter wrote:The oscillator frequency can be 60.0 MHz or 66.0 MHz depending on jumper setting. (I think the confusion may be that Derek had a RC50A, I could only get RC50 75G59Y - which I don't think I'll push 20% to 60MHz, since RC66 are available.)

I did mean to confuse the issue, I only stated what was produced, not what can be produced.
Since I have built many Q60 boards and repaired many Q40 boards, I can give some advice on te construction, but not the design.
