Can I trick the trump card so that a 1.44floppy sees it as 720K?

If I remember correctly you just need to cover the hole with some tape
Re: 720K floppy and trump card
Or do you mean fool the trump card into thinking the drive is 780K (QL uses a slightly different format so more space is given)?
Biggest issue with using the 1.44MB drives is they were mostly meant for the PC market - so come selected as "Drive 1" and use the cable twist between 1st and 2nd drive to work out which drive is which - QL cables don't use a twist - so you need to find a drive that has jumpers or a switch to select drive number. Some drives also had density select pins on the 34 pin connector - such as the PS/2 drives - and these would be shorted to ground by a standard cable.
