Gold Card battery replacement BETA program - FULL

Post by Dave »

The first five people to email me with their name and address will be signed up for the Gold Card Battery Replacement BETA program.

You'll each receive a GC/SGC battery replacement and fitting instructions, free, including free shipping. All I request in return is that you give me feedback on the design of the adaptor, and the clarity of the instructions.

The email you need is: dave@sinclairql.com

I'll post acknowledgements, and post here when all five slots are filled.

Update

Post by Dave »

Hi all,

The test/review battery holders are getting mailed out this weekend, and will be generally available in 3-4 weeks.

In each package will be the battery holder, a new quality CR2032 battery and an instruction sheet showing how to install on a Gold Card and SGC. In a few years, when the battery discharges, it is easy to replace.

When they come out they will cost
$12.00 each, plus $3 for shipping (any qty)
£8.00 each, plus £3 for shipping (any qty)
€10.00 each, plus €3.50 for shipping (any qty)

The shipping prices are a guess and will be corrected once I've shipped some ;)

Contact me for a discount if you plan to buy more than five.

In a few weeks, the battery holder will also be available from RWAP Services.

All proceeds will go towards future hardware.

Just waiting on some new pins.

It seems there were two different batches of sockets used on different GC/SGC, and the pins I selected were either snug or so loose they could work their way out if vibrated. I have ordered a fractionally larger pin and want to test the fit before shipping.

Just waiting for them to arrive from Japan. It's been a month+
