Ethernet for the QL
Re: Ethernet for the QL
My PCB order shipped. I didn't choose the expensive fast option, so hopefully it's not on a boat waiting to go through the Suez Canal!
Re: Ethernet for the QL
Hi Dave, that sounds good!
How about the logic for your PLD? Did you already prepare something?

Re: Ethernet for the QL
Not yet.
I've got the CPLDs and designed a CPLD zapper to erase them, as they were programmed using the JTAG port as IO. Those boards came in the same order.

Hehehe, you sly dawg you!
I have a tube of the magnetics/RJ45s around here somewhere but it's not where my stock database says it should be. Very annoying. I know I'll find them quickly, but I'm ordering more anyway.
Intriguingly, if I go up one size in CPLD there will be enough room to implement an SD card. I have generic code for this family for parallel to SPI, but it doesn't match the approach used by the QL-SD. Don't worry - I'm not working on it at all - just interesting that the option is there.
BTW: My trip to Michigan was FANTASTIC, thanks for asking, and I had a blast. Hanging in the forests, drinking the freshest spring water and seeing deer, moose and bears almost daily was.... good. I must do that again in the fall.

Welcome back Dave! Mentioning all those animals reminds me of this unforgettable post...
