Discovered these in a recent purchase - very pretty gold plated AH ROMs, looks like the manufacturer VL or VLI? It's a D09 serial number machine with Iss 5 board.
Also, quite amusingly while googling I encountered the 'Sinclair Rom' hotel, in Norway:

Anyone who knows who VL/VLI were, let me know.Gold plated AH ROMs and the Hotel!

Collector of QL related computers, accessories and QL games/software.
Ask me about felt pads - I can cut them to size and they have proved excellent for mdv data recovery.

Re: Gold plated AH ROMs and the Hotel!
Looks like an early logo of VLSI who started life mostly with ROMs.
Philips aquired them in 1999

Re: Gold plated AH ROMs and the Hotel!
Its possible that the proprietor was indulging in a private joke, but the word 'rom' in Norwegian only means room or rooms, so Sinclair rom simply means Sinclair rooms - not all that weird for a hotel, perhaps. But dont let that stop anyone from visiting

If I stayed in the Sinclair Room, I'd expect the walls to be covered in speccy and QL stuff, and a huge photo of Sir Clive on the wall

VTI not VLI, is VLSI Technology, Inc.Chr$ wrote:Discovered these in a recent purchase - very pretty gold plated AH ROMs, looks like the manufacturer VL or VLI? It's a D09 serial number machine with Iss 5 board.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year
QL, Falcon, Atari 520STFM, Atari 1040STE, more PC's than I care to count and an assortment of 8 bit micros (Sinclair and Acorn)(nearly forgot the Psion's)

Thanks for the comments and maker ID.
