I want to expand on this a little bit.
Issue 8 ROM port area...
Issue 8 ROM port area...
This is a snapshot of the ROM port area. The top J2' area is the ROM port holes. The lower block is a duplicate. It has extra holes to the left, that will make a 2x20 block in the next revision. Those extra 10 pins add A16..19, R/W, CLKCPU, and some bus signals to be decided, so full expansions can be installed internally. I might add a few more pins so ALL address lines can be accessed.

This opens up a whole separate discussion, so I am going to start a separate discussion. Because that's where separate discussions belong :D

Forgive me, but I still don't see the normal ROM port contacts. Will they be there or not?

Here they are, highlighted ;)

The front edge of the ROM port card edge connector is level with the recessed edge of the PCB. That puts the first row of connector pins 550 mils back from the PCB edge.

The confusion may be due to the ROM port connector being a 'female' card edge connector with right angle pins, that is fitted to those two rows of holes.

Thanks Dave and Nasta. I somehow expected the full outline of the connector on the silkscreen, because that was the case for D-SUB etc., too.
Sorry for the confusion.

I really want this QL mainboard replacement, and my personal taste would be very classic, re-using the original chips.
Like a very last revision of the Original QL.

There were library parts for the DB9 connector. I had to make the Card Edge Connector 2x15 no 6th row myself.
