Mono Out Jack

I was thinking about having a mono out Jack like a Spectrum so I can connect it with an amp or TV speaker.
As the signal coming from the existing speaker is probably the wrong current etc just to connect up, what do I need?
There's units on eBay to turn car speakers to a line output via RCA for around £10. I guess something similar is going to be needed. I don't want to blow up the RAM or cause magic smoke though!
I can't find anything on the forum, but there are articles about doing the same thing to an IBM XT, which is similar. It appears that a capacitor and a resistor are needed?

This should get you going and give you flexibility in voltage levels

It's a shame someone doesn't sell a little kit with a socket and wiring etc, ready to solder to the speaker wires :)

This is a standard feature of the Issue 8 board.

Thanks
The parts are on order!
Any ideas where I can fit the socket nicely? I'd rather not drill into the Ql, but I did for my +3e stereo Spectrum and I was happy.

Maybe start with a high resistance on the pot and then turn it down? Therefore less chance of damage?
