Re: SMSQmulator and Raspberry Pi 2
Hi,
I think a "Bare Metal" emulator would run really smooth, but to convert M68K to ARM would be a very difficult job.
I have a 2 x PI B+, but use them on RISCOS, not really interested in Linux, as I have a Core i7 laptop that runs Linux for me.

Re: SMSQmulator and Raspberry Pi 2
Given that one would have to spend several years(*) to just replace a well-working OS and a well-working Graphics API with something new that, in my experience, "doesn't work so well' - And end up with "just another QL emulator" I consider trying to port uqlx to bare metal just a waste of time.
Maybe after retirement...... (just another 15 years )
Tobias
I have realized that everything I start working on for the QL that is of at least fairly decent size takes 1.5 to 3 years from concept to "considered done" given the free time I can spend on it. (I do remember some QL adventure project that seems to be taking similar time )

Something that has been long solved in AROS and UAEDerek_Stewart wrote:Hi,

Re: SMSQmulator and Raspberry Pi 2
I've installed Oracle Java 8 (it's in the non-free component of the Raspbian repositories), and SMSQmulator for Java 8 runs 200% faster than the version for Java 7 running on open-jdk 7. I'm using Raspberry Pi 2. I wonder if this makes SMSQmulator usable on Raspberry Pi 1. Anybody can try?

I'll try this later today!programandala.net wrote:I've installed Oracle Java 8 (it's in the non-free component of the Raspbian repositories), and SMSQmulator for Java 8 runs 200% faster than the version for Java 7 running on open-jdk 7. Re: SMSQmulator and Raspberry Pi 2
Hi,
Just got a Raspberry PI 3 and have SMSQmulator 2.18 running very easily with Java 8.
It runs all my applications under SMSQ/E as well as QLE & Black Phoenix Distributions.
