By the way, I downloaded your zip file, but it was incomplete...
I downloaded and executed it again just now to check. Seems fine to me..
stevepoole wrote:So I did a CTRL-C, and copied your basic code into WordPad, then QUILL, adapted the LF/CR, and loaded into QPC2.

The program is great, colourful and attractive !

Thanks :)
Ever thought of trying my StuffScrap utility? (See this post for details.)
The equivalent steps would then look like:
1. Click on "Code: Select all"
2. Press CTRL c
3. Switch to SBASIC
4. Press ALT v

provided youd set it up as suggested in the "manual".
Of course, I guess its more satisfying to do it the hard way :P

Hi,

Which is the best:

QPC2: SYNC_SCRAP
SMSQmulator: JVA_SGET

StuffScrap
ScrapStuff
Smcratch3
GetStuffed

Regards,

Derek

Hi Derek,

I not sure I know what you mean. Perhaps someone else can answer.

What I do know is that the SMSQmulator scrap sync job doesnt automatically put the host OS'es clipboard contents into the Scrap Thing, hence the need to call JVA_SGET before accessing it. The QPC_SYNCSCRAP job apparently does, so no need for the explicit call.

StuffScrap is a Knoware utility to copy the Scrap buffer into some keyboard queue. The name is perhaps confusing, but StuffScrap doesnt go anywhere near the Stuffer Buffer. The Stuffer Buffer is where stuff goes that is commonly accessed with the ALT SPACE/ ALT SHIFT SPACE keystrokes. Many utilities, as Im sure you know, use this to pass short strings, like file names, to the user, who in turn pastes them into some other application. QPAC2 uses this, as do FILE_SELECT$, FSEL, and others.

I have no idea what ScrapStuff, Smcratch3, or GetStuffed are.

Hi Per,

Regarding my snowing2_bas program, You said :
<< Nice one, Steve :)
Perhaps you should just have left off snowing when that perfect New York skyline was complete..? >>

Just add the line '175 xit=1' and Manhattan is saved !

But remember, if it doesn't stop snowing, Glaciers will bulldoze New York straight back into the Atlantic...

Sweet dreams !

Steve.

QL Seasonal Greetings
Will this disappear with Global warming!
The flaming hearth and white snow falling,
Will new COVID restrictions be the trend,
Undermining the goodwill we wish to send,
Not so with the Seasonal Progs shown here,
Giving screen displays with jingle cheer...
