Very sad news. Hopefully his ideas and innovative mind will inspire others. And definitely, his computers will outlive him for generations to come. Sinclair ZX Spectrum clone was my first computer, which introduced me not only to games but to tinkering, programming and love for hardware.

RIP

What killed the C5 was a concerted media campaign against it. Just shows you how tighly coupled big oil and big media were even back then!

Not everyone knows that in the United States in the 30s circulated in major electric vehicles, especially for freight transport. As usual interests of a few (oil tycoons and others) prevail over everyone's interests.
Sir Clive was an innovator and the C5 could be a 30-year early starting point.

Hi to all, sad days.

Hi Folks,
The french press agency has circulated the following tribute.
Sir Clive had hoped to supply french schools with QLs, but Thomson got the deal... for millions !

There is also something in the German news magazine "Spiegel":

I wasn't aware that Sir Clive continued to use a slide ruler instead of a computer for himself...
