Not sure if this has cropped up before

Being on-line late at night, the time stamp doesn't relate to actual (its actually 12:30 now), I have frequently seen in the 'users on-line' besides myself,
YAHOO [bot], for new users and also for my own curiosity, any explanation who or what that is

Yahoo[BOT] is the Yahoo search engine.

The forum has a feature that allows search engine bots to connect and catalogue the posts which helps when searching for things on a search engine. (I think)

The actual web bots look very similar to the robot hector from the film Saturn 3

What got me was the sounds used to instil psychological terror for Hector
