Re: EJC (C-Compiler) experiments
NO! Metacomco C was never copy protected!. The ROM was absolutely necessary on an unexpanded QL, cause there was not enough room to load TK2 to get the "EX" commands. Even with the ROM, when running the compiler, the screen flickered (was destroyed in parts) on an unexpanded QL (i.e. the ...

Re: EJC (C-Compiler) experiments
I don't use hotkeys but HOT_CHP claims to load an executable program into the common heap and Digital 'C' SE uses the common heap for its code. You can also EXEC the same program multiple times and it will run multiple independent copies (so it is reentrant). However, I would hope that's true of any...

Re: EJC (C-Compiler) experiments
Thank you. It seems to be a set of libraries and maybe a modified linker but no parser or code generator...I'm guessing that's phase 1 & 2. So the linker and new library is what changed with regard to Metacomco/Lattice C I'm guessing, making it position-independent. I don't own Metacomco C and i...

Re: vDrive: With MDV sound? I wonder.
You mean play that whirring sound instead of the beep? That would be great. One of the nicer sounds I remember on the QL is when a microdrive was working perfectly and it would just do a whir for a sector read, stop, and then do the next one and continue all the way through to the end. That would be...

Re: Fleet tactical command
Ok, ok, it was me! I was d..3. I didn't want to own up to it until I had it in hand, and I do now. Nice to see one of the folks collecting some of this stuff from eBay being a forum member. I saw a new YouTube video on the QL pop up last week showing a boxed one...so some of the boxed ones may be g...

Re: ROMDISQ WANTED
Yeah, that was mainly due to the two SD slots and I found it too big for my taste, too. So my new variant can host one SD or two MicroSD. But I'm still tinkering with the design. Two microSD's might work. All the SD cards I have just seem to be the converters that house the microSD. Maybe post a fo...

Re: Dot matrix printer for QL
I had both the M1009 (yard sale) and M1109 (bought new) model -- I think I had the latter first. Hooked them both up to my QL with no problem. Neither had a special ROM for the it though but had an Epson mode I think. I later hooked up the M1109 to my Mac IIsi and with the proper driver that thing d...

Re: ROMDISQ WANTED
Wow, I wish I had one to sell for that much. However, there is an SD equivalent, QL-SD, that plugs in internally and I think uses the ROM interface. It may not quite do all the things as the ROMDISQ. https://www.kilgus.net/ql/ql-sd/ The developer shared in March that he had been working on a QL-SD R...
