Re: Q68 support thread

My on-off use of the Q68 has been a partial success so far. I have been trying to configure the Q68 to look like my high resolution QPC setup and, in the process, have "mashed" the contents of quite a few 4GB SDHC cards. I am now able to easily format and partition FAT16 cards using Linux ...

Re: Quasi QL

I am glad you like it. It's not quite finished. It was designed around three particular Chinese components which may be difficult to find again, even though I bought them this year. The case is printed in four pieces because my printer is not large enough to print it in one go. The key board is sepa...

Re: Q68 support thread

Again, thank you all for your help. I have finally managed to create a correctly partitioned SD card and have it recognised in slot 2 of the Q68. The process of learning to partition and format as FAT16 an SD card was certainly time consuming but the problem of getting the Q68 to read from slot 2 la...

Re: Q68 support thread

My Q68 was set up as per Dereks instructions. I was hoping that I had missed something. One thing that is different is the version of SMS/QE that I have. The options shown by Derek do not exist on my version which appears to be 3.34. How does one clone the Q68 SDHC card and how can I grab a screen i...

Re: Q68 support thread

Derek and Martin Head, I thank you both for your replies. They are bit too technical for me but they have proven useful. Are Martin and I really the only Q68 owners wanting to use a FAT card? Thanks to your clues I have already created two bootable Linux Distros with the Unix tool required to create...

Re: Q68 support thread

No! Non! Nein! I have tried GParted both in live bootable form and within a live bootable Linux Mint. Nothing so far has produced a Q68 readable FAT SD card. The whole process is a real pain. Creating a live bootable Unix and getting my laptop to boot from USB is exceptionally tedious. I am not even...

Could you please point me to that manual page, so I can fix ? Page 11, 2nd to last paragraph in the PDF docu...

Re: Q68 support thread

I have not used my Q68 in a long time but I am in the process of printing a keyboard housing to accommodate it. In anticipation of success I setup the Q68 to my liking but found , like Martin_Head, that I was unable to create a FAT16 partition on a 4GB SDHC card. I see that he asked for an idiots gu...

Re: Quasi QL

Thank you all for your replies. The HP tablet has no legacy mode, the people who formatted the "hard disk" suggested that this was because it was a cheap model !! I looked at PMB6 and superuser.com but found, without trying very hard, that I couldn't understand them. I will have another go...

Quasi QL

I was an SMS2 enthusiast but knowing that its roots lie in the demise of the QL, and as a homage to the Sinclair design, I decided to amuse myself by printing a Quasi QL.. The QQL consists of a micro pc and wired USB keyboard running SMSQE at a display resolution of 1920*1200. The user interface is ...
