Re: UPDATE Production restart of old CPUs - Rochester postin

What, I think, dd-rocelec and others are saying is: Rochester: Old designs just re-manufactured on existing dies. Tekmos: Design re-created from an old die, then manufactured on new dies (so the clock speed can be higher). So, you can replace your 680x0 easily from a BBQL/(Super)Gold using a Rochest...

68020 lives again!

The 68020 lives again, through a company called Tekmos. Through a collaboration with Motorola, they reverse-engineered the old 68020 to produce a compatible replacement.

Re: Trump Card on Ebay

Agreed. Unfortunately I am moving house next week and don't have the patience as I've got other things that are more pressing.

Sorry,

Re: CST Q+4 Interface

I've got another Q+4 interface (from the blue keyboard-less QL I bought on Ebay). That Q+4 has not got the ROM or the chips for the 26-way and the 20-way (Didn't I see a picture in one of the QL mags hooking up a harddrive to the Q+4?).

Most of the production of the ZX81 / Spectrum / (QL?) was based in Dundee by Timex.

The closest real Airport is Edinburgh, with excellent rail links.

Therefore I propose Edinburgh!

1990s - QLs spotted in Uni shocker!

A long... long... time ago, when dinosaurs roamed the earth*, well 1992-ish, a pimply faced youth (PFY) toured the electronic engineering facility of Edinburgh University. In one room, there were lots of QLs powered up. When the PFY asked what the QLs were doing, the head of department said the QLs ...

Re: Microdrive data line format

From your scope, it seems to me that the bottom trace (2) is the clock and the top trace (1) is the data coded as FM: 100kHz = '1', 50kHz = '0'.

That way, if the microdrive is slow or fast it doesn't matter because the recorded clock that matters.
