Re: QL Mainboard mechanical drawing
Thank you Dave, but please no further efforts, that would be more than if I do a little measuring.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Kickstarter 2 just launched
Out of curiosity... does someone know who is responsible for the ZX Spectrum Next as a product, and how they acquired the right to use "Sinclair" as part of the name?

Re: QL Mainboard mechanical drawing
Many thanks Dave, that would be cool!Dave wrote:I did this in around 2004. It’s a couple of computers ago, but if the file still exists I’ll find it. It also included variations of positions of internal connectors.

QL Mainboard mechanical drawing
Hi,
is there a drawing of the QL mainboard, with mechanical dimensions, outline, connector locations, etc.?
Thanks
Peter

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
With regards to the PS/2 question, I have some PS/2 to USB adapters, which seems to work with the Q68 PS/2 Splitter. This allows access to most USB keyboards and mice. The catch is I only have a limited amount. The other catch is that a Q68 logic update to the latest version could be needed in case...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
The real insurmountable problem is the keyboard and mouse. You need an extra keyboard and mouse which take up desk space, and are also getting rather hard to find nowadays. This "insurmountable problem" has been solved with PS/2-USB converters, too. Surely not a cheap solution, but if som...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
What I meant was that you can't just take an SD card containing a .WIN file from QPC or the Mister, and mount the file on the Q68. In the other direction (mounting a Q68 file on the other platform) this is possible, but it is still a limitation. D. Sorry, but I still do net see the problem. Because...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
A friend installed an Aurora, SGC, Minerva MK2 with I2C and Qubide Hard drive in a QL case and used the Aurora to QL Matrix circuit to use the QL Keyboard. I posted pictures in the Aurora Somewhere thread: https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1133&start=30#p24759 So maybe this has alre...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
It is trivial to connect and disconnect my HDMI Monitor (with HDMI switcher) and USB hub from my PC laptop, Mister, Raspberry Pi (which I use for running RiscOS) and even my genuine Spectrum+ (with ZX-HD), but the Q68 cannot be part of this. Getting HDMI from the Q68 is roughly a €10 investment, th...

Re: Target for major new QL hardware
Q68 is definitely the way forward, if you Peter have some time I vote for Q68 enhancements: Cache, sound, Network, possibility to update core. As for network, there might be news soon. ;) Pity, i noticed that only 50 people voted to Poll for new hardware out of 700 members This worries me also. But...
