Re: Mandelbrot fractal on QL
I don't have Quick Mandelbrot. This one is much simpler. First, the "darn *language!* :) pre-calc": (Sequence on this video was calculated in one day.) 10 sizex%=366:sizey%=256 20 maxiter%=256 30 MODE 8:WINDOW #1,sizey%*2,sizey%,0,0 40 SCALE sizey%,0,0 45 a%=10 50 FOR x%=0 TO sizex% 60 xi=...

Mandelbrot fractal on QL
I was just playing with QL and SBasic, but the result, I think, looks nice.

QXL host computer
What are requirements for QXL card? I wanted to use small, quiet system, so as host computer I used Cyrix 233 MHz mini-PC with PCI and ISA slot (as QXL requires the ISA slot). VGA, PS/2 mouse and PS/2 keyborad connectors are present together with ethernet and USB. With MS-DOS 6.22, CuteMouse mouse d...

Re: Microdrive data line format
From this point of view, the ideal peripheral device was the ROMDisq (four expansion ROMs, e.g. Toolkit II, and flash-memory based storage). Pity, it was limited to 4 MB.
With larger space on flash, or with SD card, this will be unbeatable expansion.

Re: Using Microdrives Today
I think, that Spectrum Microdrive format and QL Microdrive format are too different, and the book will not help.

Re: Seen on eBay
I was interested in this, but all the removable chips are missing. Seven processors, seven ZX8301's, seven ZX8302's to complete this will eat much money. I wanted to use Q-LAN connections between boards to build a QL based parallel computer - like AppleCrate II ( http://home.comcast.net/~mjmahon/App...

Re: Microdrive data line format
Shouldn't this be the opposite?
Higher frequency for 1 bits (byte 255) and lower for 0 bits (byte 0)?

Re: Making my own Text adventure game
I think, that even in the ZX Spectrum community, there is no common knowledge, what "TZK file" means.
Edit: maybe TZX?

Re: Super Gold Card + Scart
I use their cables with SGC QL and with three different monitor types I had no problem.
Better thing than to force them to change the cables is to build analog / TTL switch for the monitor.
