Re: QL/E running on QXL2 ISA PC card
Hi Chr$, I have got all combinations of QL hardware, even a QXLII 8mb, 25mhz,which, I use MSDOS, the PC is only a K6 500mhz with 768 ram, only Windows 98SSE would run smoothely. Re: QL/E running on QXL2 ISA PC card
Hi Chr$, I would suggest writing your own boot system and not rely on pre formatted systems that may work but could have only 10% of what you really need. The software included with Q68 includes QL/E,Black Phoenix and some sample boot files I have tried to show how easy it is to write a QL Boot file...

Re: QL/E running on QXL2 ISA PC card
Hi, Basically, if you are not using using SMSQ/E, which includies the QXL SMSQ, Minerva, QDOS Roms, the following is required to be installed: PTR_GEN WMAN HOT_REXT Note: they must be installed in this order. SMSQ/E includes all of the above, then Extended Environment 2 applications can be loaded in...

Re: "New" SD interface
This card is very very interesting. I hope you can solve the issues related to the software. I take this opportunity to thank Tetroid for his work, and remember the good work that José Leandro and Habi did from Spain with his QubIDE clone . Hi, I bought one of José Leandro expansion cards, which is...

Re: vDrive by vRetro (Charles Ingley) Unboxing Video
Hi TJ,
Nice Video, I might get a vDriveQL case from Charlie.
With regards to microdrive images you could use the free QPC2 and MDI (microdrive image system) extensions to generate microdrives images.

Reverse Engineering
Hi,
I am wondering whether reverse engineering, which involve software disassembly of QL software where the source code is not available is legal or not.

Re: Designing 3-D cases: vDrive & Q68
Hi, The power switch on a cased Q68 is located on the front panel, which is connected to the 3 pin header on the Q68 PCB. On uncased Q68 boards, I fit a jumper on the pin header, on pins 2-3 See Q68 manual, Chaper 2, page 4 for details. It is important not to connect Pin 1, which is a Ground connect...

Re: QL/E running on QXL2 ISA PC card
Hi, I have had many QXL Cards, with the standard Miracle Systems 68EC040 CPU running at 2Mhz and the QXLII running at 25Mhz. I also fitted a 68RC040 to the QXLII, which gave it an internal CPU based FPU. I only have used the SMSQ or SMSQ/E QXL application from DOS, not Windows. Never really used the...

Re: Designing 3-D cases: vDrive & Q68
Hi, The Q68 QLNET connection is derived from the internal Q68 expansion port. I started to fit a male 2 x 12 DIL X 2mm connector to allow simple connection to the Q68 expansion port. The placement of the Q68 QLNET connectors are proving a little bit hard to incorporate into the Q68 case. Where I hav...
