Re: CTL plug type

Oh, something else useful I found, if like me, you are crap at soldering!

A 9 pin plug with solder-free connections inside: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263474273086

Re: CTL plug type

I found this site useful when looking for a definitive list of similar connectors: https://zxnet.co.uk/spectrum/btconnectors/ In 30 odd years I hadn't even realised SER and CTL were different!! I never had any joysticks back in the day, just a printer... I suspect some of these various models could ...

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC

Hi guys, I've had a very interesting weekend tinkering and learning more about how to set things up on the QL and what the limitations are. My issue with the Gold Card and Tetroid backplane remains, but I've made progress in other areas - just wanted to share those thoughts/findings which may be of ...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface

Hi guys, is there any documentation available on what exactly the Alain Haoui Starter kit contains and how to get the most out of it? Is it specifically for this implementation of QubIDE where the storage medium is CF, or would it be likely to work ok on my Zaxon QubIDE card with standard IDE connec...

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC

Great to see the SerMouse software available here! It has inspired me to look out for a serial mouse on the listings. (And a bus one, should some Qimi stuff become available too) Yes, but keep in mind that ser1 and ser2 connections are different. I had to change the connections of the retrocomputers...

Re: Miracle Super Gold card

Nice!

That reminds me, how about a version that has a pass-through, for QubIDE, or even a combined SGC/QubIDE card? Eh, Tetroid?

Re: Testing Tetroid backplane and GC

I've since tried the Gold Card in the backplane (with the buffer board) without the 68008, and it still won't work, alas!

Yes that's an interesting one. The software is singled out for particular praise here: https://www.sinclairuser.com/040/qlhard.htm

...but that's all I could find with a basic Google

Re: QConnect Software

Awesome, many thanks Rich! I'll give these a try. Having a quick look on q-emulator, all versions supplied flash up briefly that they are version 2.0, before the main menu comes up. So at least at face value, the only variation appears to be the different mdv/flp versions. I'll get them over to my Q...

Re: QConnect Software

Many thanks Derek! I have the manual, I'm just lacking the software, but I'm sure that will be very useful to others. If it would be possible to get hold of the program too, that would be brilliant :)
