Re: Switching Regulator?

My Murata 150115 regulator has been in my main QL (German model) for 5 years and has been fine, including for the use-case of dumping hundreds of original mdv carts. I haven't actually used it much recently with GC or Trump cards, but it certainly had no issue with those in the past. I wonder if the...

It looks like the seller is also its creator. He has a link to his website with more info here (in German):

Re: My rare old QL version AH

I thought my QL was an oddity. This beats it. https://www.ebay.es/itm/296234059295?var&widget_ver=artemis&media=WHATS_APP How cool is that! Check out the mdv drives in the front panel. Someone really went to town with that one. I wonder what that display/drive unit started life as, some oth...

Re: My rare old QL version AH

What's the green serial number on the bottom? The socket next to the ROM is present on early Iss 5 boards and can be used to house a 74LS00 and with the wire links configured differently the ROM sockets can be converted to use normal EPROMS instead of those mask ROMs. I don't know what the number me...

Brad - check your account!

Looks like Brad has been hacked by a spammer, as previous posts were normal and on-topic.

Re: sinclair ql keyboard ( keys complete membrane defective )

indeed Here we are then. 20240204_190724.jpg 20240204_190750.jpg the part above the drives has some text melted into it but the other end, around the actual keyboard and the keys themselves, are pretty nice. Metal backing and rubber dome mat present, the only slight inconsistency is that the CTRL k...

Re: sinclair ql keyboard ( keys complete membrane defective )

You mean just a top case half, with all the keys, the rubber dome pad and the metal backing plate?

Re: ICL OPD BASIC now in ROM!

I replaced the other electrolytics on the m/b just in case. No difference. I've fixed it though, sort of. I carried out the same mod on my other CPU daughter board and that one worked first time - BASIC in ROM! I can only assume that something is flaky on the other board I was using... perhaps one o...

Re: ICL OPD BASIC now in ROM!

That is likely as I've noticed that resetting (removing and reinserting or shorting the 3v battery quickly) has had an effect in the past. Then the message 'Permanent store lost' appears on re-boot. I've removed everything from the CPU board and am comparing connections etc with the other working on...

Re: ICL OPD BASIC now in ROM!

I don't think just trying to read from that address would cause that problem - as the data is in ROM. I know, it must have just been a coincidence. It has crashed previously while working through the Welcome package menus but I put that down to dodgy loaded data and it worked from another copy of t...
