Minerva has a much improved RAM test than the original QL ROM, so it could just be picking up bad memory - also check none of the pins are bent in the expansion connector (you never know). You can get a modern PC disk drive to work with the QL by taking a standard PC floppy disk drive cable and removing the existing twist in the cable. You then need to swap pins 10 and 12 on the cable to get the floppy disk recognised as the master (DS0) If you are really lucky, there are some jumpers...
