Re: Ubuntu 14.04.4 and uqlx2017

I've been working mostly from the desktop. So, I've just looked in the Zip file, and yes there is a file '".uqlxrc" with <user> in it. So it does exist, I just cant see it. When you copy it to the Home directory, Do I have to retain the ".", so it remains invisible? If I want to ...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.4 and uqlx2017

I have now dumped the full desktop version of Ubuntu, and installed XUbuntu instead, which looks and works a lot more like Windows. I don't think that the PC I'm using is good enough to run the full version of Ubuntu. Following the UQLX user guide, I can now start UQLX with the distribution configur...

Ubuntu 14.04.4 and uqlx2017

I decided to have a play with Linux, and try UQLX2017 on it. But I am having problems. Probably because I don't know one end of Linux from the other. The UQLX document says Create a uqlx directory on your system. Copy the uqlx distribution (.zip) file into that directory and extract (unzip) the file...

Re: Odd behavour of the DIR command?

I have disassembled the SUB device driver. And what it does, is that the I/O routine traps any IO.FSTRG calls after they have been done. It also patches FS.RENAME calls In the IO.FSTRG calls, if the file type is a directory, and the number of bytes fetched is exactly 64 (a file header), then the fil...

Re: Odd behavour of the DIR command?

Is this the SUB device from Dilwyn Jones's web site in drivers.zip from the toolkits section?

Is the source code available so I can see how it's done.

I thought these were soldered in. If it's in a socket, it looks like someone's had problems around there in the past (The same fault?).

Re: Installing SMSQ/E on BBQL+gold card

I'm concerned about that screen shot. I would have expected the screen to be full of data. This is the start of QPAC2 from the QPC2 demo qpac2.png There's about 20 screen fulls. Where as in the screen shot there are only 3 lines. I know that copying to the scr_ , it will just scroll to the end of th...

Re: Installing SMSQ/E on BBQL+gold card

You are right I’m very uninitiated. Of course there is this cold boot with stripes on the screen then a monitor window with stippled borders. So far so good, QL is responsive and working. I cant tell if I’m in smsq/e but I assume so. But when I lrespr qpac2 the QL Freezes and becomes unresponsive. ...

Re: Video issue over rf. Changes with reset

It may be a dry joint. Use the handle of a small screwdriver, or a plastic pen. To tap gently around the the area of the MC1377 IC to see if you can make the fault come and go.

Re: Video issue over rf. Changes with reset

Probably the RF modulator getting old. They were never that great even when new.

Once you go RGB, you wont want to go back to RF.
