You are right I’m very uninitiated. Of course there is this cold boot with stripes on the screen then a monitor window with stippled borders. So far so good, QL is responsive and working. I cant tell if I’m in smsq/e but I assume so. But when I lrespr qpac2 the QL Freezes and becomes unresponsive. ...

It may be a dry joint. Use the handle of a small screwdriver, or a plastic pen. To tap gently around the the area of the MC1377 IC to see if you can make the fault come and go.

Probably the RF modulator getting old. They were never that great even when new.

Once you go RGB, you wont want to go back to RF.
