Blue Boxed QL (was Re: eBay item)

Well, the blue box is, as you all surmised, contains the QL's power regulators on the QL's heatsink. However there is no air flow through the blue box, so reducing the advantage of putting the heatsinks outside the QL. The Q+4 is interesting. Re: eBay item

Yep, the ultimate enthusiasts QL alright. I have to take apart (*) the Q+4, just to see what the former owner did fitting the floppy disk & parallel interface inside the Q+4. Need also to work out what the blue box is. TTFN * - I'm an engineer (**) ** - Engineers specialise in taking things apar...

Re: eBay item

Right, I'd thought I'd boot up the BBQL - discovered both of my QL power supplies are in Yorkshire whilst I'm in Edinburgh for the fortnight. Ho hum. Ho bloody hum. Re: eBay item

Well the BBQL(*) has arrived, but no time to really to power-on/test/take to pieces yet. However, from peeking under the flap (where the QL keyboard should go), I see there's the Minerva ROM, and a chocolate PCB daughterboard (Hermes? Hermes-like?) for the AT keyboard and serial ports - the ports ar...

Re: eBay item

Well the blue-boxed QL has been dispatched today apparently (so long!) - with the age of the 10 second kiddies, me included (mental age), why does post etc take too long?!
