Re: Bad evenings repairs
OK just found that the board that cooked my Minerva ROM somehow has a short around the 7805! I removed the 7805 and carrier and I still have 0 ohm between the in and out!? Anyone want to look at a Issue 5 circuit diagram and tell me what could cause this as I have been under a magnifying lamp to see...

Re: CST Thor 1
ON the board removed today I added the regulators I took off the board I was installing to the Thor. I have also noticed on this Issue 5 board I removed, that memory ICs 3, 5, 9 and 10 are getting very hot, +60 degrees within seconds. The screen seems to be constantly changing with different patter...

Bad evenings repairs
I had good intentions tonight. I had a CST Thor with an iffy QL motherboard, so I bought a new motherboard from Rich. It sat there for a few months but today I decided to take action. I took off the unwanted power regulators from the new board and put them on the old board. Put the new board in the ...

Re: CST Thor 1
Starting to loose the will to live on this one...... Rich sent me a working issue 5 board which I got around to fitting today. Had to remove the power connector, IC35 (7805), IC36 and IC37 (regulators) as power is derived from the Thor.. And! All I get is a black screen! On RF I cannot get a s...

Re: Anyone with a psu for Microperipherals Floppy Interface?
Hi there, I am not to convinced about that pin-out as it talks about 18V AC and 11V AC where our PSU has a 15V AC and a 9V DC. Thanks BP Here you go... Micro-peripherals power.JPG The post by Bloodnok earlier in this thread should be what you are looking for. Unfotunately I don't have a multimeter t...

Re: Anyone with a psu for Microperipherals Floppy Interface?
Would it be possible for you to show the DIN connector and measure what voltage is on what pin?
I would like to fit a DIN plug to mine but I am not sure what is on what pin.
Thanks
Russ

Re: CST Thor 1
Hi Bob, Apologies that should read: track cut on negative part of C37 -> C38! On your issue 5 board are pins 1 and 2 of HBC1 and HBC2 wire-linked? Is that for Microdrive usage? I know the resistor on mine allows 9v to be passed to the Microdrive circuits. Russ Hi Russ, I checked again and the C37/3...

Re: CST Thor 1
Hi Bob,
Maybe you could pop up a photo of the area around the power connector so we can have a look?
Many thanks
