Re: My QXT640 thread

Spem clearly worked with/supplied Sandy in some capacity and that machine certainly bears a striking resemblance to a QXT640. By the way... if ever you need replacement keyswitches for the SPEM QL Keyboard, they are made by Futaba and you can get new ones, here: https://www.pollin.de/p/futaba-eingab...

Re: D-Day Games workshop

I have also been binned out of both the forum and the wiki this morning. The message being "qlforum.co.uk unexpectedly closed the connection". I've reported this back to Rob in case there's anything in the logs. Yes, that's the message I get too. I'll try again and will be more patient wi...

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal

The electrolytic capacitor in the top left corner of the picture might be involved in lengthening the power on reset (unless it's just across the supply rail). Might be worth a change. Also I noticed on the IC in the top right corner. On it's left hand side, between pins 4 and 5 from the top of the...

Re: D-Day Games workshop

Hello Norm, Those are the steps I followed yesterday. I got to the upload prompt, selected 2 images to put within the 'packaging' area and there was a short pause before 'failed' in red text appeared, once for each image. And then I was locked out for about a minute. Today, after logging out and in ...

Re: D-Day Games workshop

Hmm, I still can't add images to the wiki. It kicks me out after failing. There was an issue that I thought had been solved since a server update, but no, it's the same as before (first time I attempted to add images since the change).

Re: D-Day Games workshop

Got it thanks. It should be the original version on boxed mdvs like that. Don't try them out without re-felting though, it would be a shame for them to be damaged from disintegrating felt pads. I don't think there is a manual online. Maybe RWAP has one though, as he no doubt provides it with the new...

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal

I wonder if the Sandy keyboard interface simply wasn't widely compatible with different types of XT k/b. Well, that probably has to do with the fact that, at that time, different types of XT keyboards weren't even compatible with each other - "the standard" was just stabilizing. Original ...

Re: Sandy Keyboard Interface, appeal

Well that was a massive rabbit hole then! It is indeed designed for an XT keyboard as you correctly surmised tofro. It said 'AT' on the wiki page. I've corrected that now. I know from PC's that XT/AT are two very different kettles of fish. With the same k/b switched to XT mode it mainly works so I'l...
