Re: Extending the operating system/Basic in compilied programs
Thanks for the response, I was asking because someone has reported to me that they are trying to start my IP Network driver in a compiled program, and it is crashing the system. I don't know exactly what they are doing, or which compiler they are using . But my initial thought was that it was a risk...

Extending the operating system/Basic in compilied programs
Does anyone know if it is safe to add device drivers and SuperBASIC proc/functions while within a compiled program?
Would the SuperBASIC procs/functions just be added to the compiled program, or be available to SuperBASIC itself?
Or is it likely to crash the system?

Re: Pyramide Software - Some Freeware
I have been having a go at translating the Tridim manual into English. Here is my first draft.I have not done the graphs yet, and the text is basically as it came out of the translator program, So parts of it read a bit strange in English. There's a few places where I could not read the original man...

Re: ULA ZX8301 - TV Picture Capabilities
Hi Martin, ZX/ATARI over UHF modulated TV cable, picture is of good quality, this may exclude TV from fault finding, I should think. I did not try QL composite output, that would require feeding the signal to a yellow input socket on my TV, also bypassing modulator is needed for that, to get compos...

Re: ULA ZX8301 - TV Picture Capabilities
When you said My TV is quite a modern Thomson make, it gives excellent picture with ZX Speccy and ATARI ST, all in TV mode, no flair in white. QL Picture over RGB-SCART cable is also perfect. was that cable RGB only, or was that using composite video? If the picture using composite video is OK. Then...

Re: ULA ZX8301 - TV Picture Capabilities
I have also found this http://www.ep128.hu/Sp_Hardware/SP_Modulator.htm on the modulator. If you really think the modulator is faulty http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/401319491419?chn=ps&dispItem=1&adgroupid=43333907642&rlsatarget=pla-353736523367&abcId=1088846&adtype=pla&merch...

Re: ULA ZX8301 - TV Picture Capabilities
If I remember rightly, In the UHF television signal, the bottom of the sync pulses (blacker than black) is the maximum carrier amplitude. And peek white is minimum carrier amplitude. So if you supplied too big a signal (or it thought it was too big a signal) you could effectively stop the carrier wh...

Re: ULA ZX8301 - TV Picture Capabilities
It could be the UHF modulator playing up. Do you get the same problem with the composite video output?
Does it do the same on another TV? It could be a problem with the TV? I remember that on some old televisions, flaring on peak whites was a sign of the CRT getting old.

Re: Pyramide Software - Some Freeware
I have got it further.
Are there any French (I think it's French) speakers than can tell if it's working OK.
I have also attached a Qemulator .mdv file.

Re: Pyramide Software - Some Freeware
The SuperCharged program tries to LBYTES a file named 'mdv1_' A device name with no following filename
QDOS does not seem to mind an empty filename, But SMSQ/E does not like it.
